Project Overview
This project will provide school reform methods originated in Japan, centered on participatory observation-based lesson studies, to public schools and in-service teachers in Cambodia. Specifically, the project will provide training at four elementary and junior high schools attached to teacher training universities and ten public vocational training schools, while also running an experimental school for research and development purposes. The project will cultivate teachers’ “ability to learn from the learning behavior of children” and provide enriched learning opportunities to impoverished children, who are at high risk of dropping out of school due to alienation from learning and falling into a cycle of poverty. By creating and expanding classrooms where all children can receive high-quality education, the project aims to solve the problem of “learning poverty.”
