In the U.S., there is a growing demand for high-quality science education curriculum, such as the need to improve scientific literacy scores in the PISA survey. The Science & Education Research Institute of Ochanomizu University, in collaboration with the Bloomington Japanese Language School in Indiana, will implement science education developed in Japan that focuses on observation and experimentation at local elementary and secondary schools. The goal is to demonstrate the advanced nature of Japanese science education in the U.S. and to expand the number of schools introducing the program in order to bring science education to all children in an equitable manner.
